At this year’s Folk Festival celebration event Matt Piper (Swanage Folk Festival’s Treasurer) handed over a cheque for £500 to the Swanage Disabled Club.
Swanage Folk Festival’s chairperson Jon Baker said:
“As a local festival we help local good causes, and donate any surplus once the festival is finished each year. Any surplus we manage to create is given to local good causes, and all of the Swanage Folk Festival’s volunteers are unpaid. We focus on supporting the local community. The Swanage Disabled Club is a very local charity supporting disabled and elderly relatives”
Swanage Disabled Club is a local charity offering transport, social meetings, and outings for disabled and elderly residents. They meet every Monday from 2–4 PM at All Saints Church Hall in Ulwell. The Swanage Folk Festival is self-funded and run solely by volunteers. If we manage to create a small surplus we donate it to local good causes. We rely on your support, please volunteer to help and / or donate.
