Why sponsor the Swanage Folk Festival?

Putting it simply, we need your help to keep this community event going! Sponsoring a local event like the Swanage Folk Festival can offer numerous benefits to a local business, but first it’s important to understand a bit about the festival.

About the Swanage Folk Festival

  • Not for profit: The Swanage Folk Festival is a community event, run by unpaid volunteers, with the aim of keeping traditional music and dance alive. Any money raised goes to paying for the event and any surplus goes to local good causes.
  • Thousands of visitors: The Swanage Folk Festival is a three-day event with a mixture of paid and free to attend concerts. PLUS it’s the largest UK festival of morris dance sides, we fill the town with over 65 teams of dancers. Then there's over 60 stalls in the craft fair, along with the festival bar and children’s entertainers keep families happy for the day; as well as fringe events packing the local pubs for the weekend.
  • Generates business in the town: The Swanage Folk Festival takes place just after the main summer holiday season, helping extend the season. The festival attracts thousands of visitors; most of them buying food and gifts, booking accommodation, supporting local businesses.
  • Supports local charities: If we manage to cover the costs of running the festival the surplus is given to local good causes. Under our constitution we cannot “make a profit” for ourselves. Recent donations have gone to the Swanage Food Bank, #WillDoes, Dorset Air ambulance, Lewis-Manning Hospice care, Friends of Swanage hospital, St Georges pre-school.
  • Festival fun for for over 30 years: The Swanage Folk Festival is one of the biggest events in the town and has been for over thirty years.

Team building - for free?

Many large commercial organisations pay thousands of pounds for team building events which build employee motivation and productivity. If your team joined us as volunteers (helping run the festival) for the weekend we could provide a trained facilitator to help you turn a weekend of volunteering into a free team building event, at the same time as building your brand and helping the festival. Email info@swanagefolkfestival.com for more details.

Sponsor an event

How about sponsoring one of the events we run (e.g. the Saturday afternoon concert) or the children’s entertainment? Your branding, seen by everybody at that event. Email info@swanagefolkfestival.com for more details.

Co branded merchandise.

Another way to help the festival could be to have your logo on some of the merchandise we sell. We change the range each year, but in the past we’ve successfully sold eco friendly souvenir beer mugs, T-Shirts, badges, key rings, calendars and stickers. How about hats, coffee mugs. Email info@swanagefolkfestival.com for more details.

Thank you.

However you choose to help the Swanage Folk Festival you’ll be helping keep traditional music live, keeping dancers dancing and supporting local good causes. It’s our passion and we’re grateful for your support, in any way.
