Photo and video competition.

Get creative, take some photos, or videos, on the theme of “Heart of the Festival” and you could win a free weekend wrist band to next year’s festival.

To enter, upload a maximum of two photos (or one video) that you took at this year’s festival, to the Swanage Folk Festival Facebook page by 14th of September 2025. Entries need to be tagged #heartofthefestival.

The rules

Entries can be taken on phone or camera, but the competition is open to amateur photographers only.
A maximum of two photos or one video per person can be entered for the competition.
Videos should be about 1 minute long (min 50 seconds, max 1 min 20 seconds).
The winning entries (best photo and best video) will demonstrate the “heart of the festival”.

Terms

Winners will be announced in October on Facebook and our newsletter. The judges’ decision is final.
Each winner will receive an adult weekend pass to the 2026 Swanage Folk Festival. The prize is non-exchangeable.
Swanage Folk Festival reserves the right to use the any of the competition entries for festival publicity purposes and reserves the right to remove unsuitable entries from their Facebook page.

Competition rules.

The video you shoot must be your own original work, filmed at the 2024 Swanage Folk Festival
Video should be shot on a phone or small camera and should comply with our photography policy.
- Flash and videos shot with video lights are forbidden as they can distract performers and other audience members.
- Respect the wishes of performers who may request no photography or recording during their performances.
- No videos to include images of minors.
The judges decsion is final.
Video submitted become the property of Swanage Folk Festival. We may use them for marketing purposes, without credit to you (although we attempt to do so).
All entries must be submitted by 23:59 on 30/9/24
Videos should be uploaded via the link which will be made available on this website.
Swanage Folk Festival reserves the right to amend these rules at any time.
