Terms & Conditions and Ticket Policy

Tickets are sold subject to the following terms and conditions.

The Festival reserves the right to sell unfilled seats 15 minutes after a concert starts, so you should arrive early for your chosen events or we cannot guarantee entry.

Cancellation / Refunds

Tickets may not be exchanged, transferred, re-sold, refunded or re-issued except at the discretion of the Festival organisers.
If we cancel the event, due to circumstances beyond our control, only the face value of the ticket will be refunded.
No refunds will be offered to customers who are refused entry or asked to leave a venue on account of being (or appearing to be), abusive, threatening, drunken or participating in other antisocial behaviour, carrying offensive weapons or illegal substances, declining to be searched, or making unauthorised audio, video or photographic recordings not for personal use.
Swanage Folk Festival reserves the right to refuse entry to any venue.

Children

Children’s tickets are only available when booked in conjunction with Adult tickets. All children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
Under 6’s go free (unless specified in programme).

Entry to events.

You should arrive early for your event. Particularly if you’d like to sit with your friends rather than wave at them from the back.

Festival Weekend Tickets: These cover all ticketed events over the weekend (subject to space), you must be wearing your wristband.
Search: You may be searched at the entrance, as a condition of entry. Any items we consider may be used in an illegal or offensive manner will be confiscated. No glass bottles, or alcohol, may be brought into any of our venues.
Accessibility: Information on accessibility in the different venues is available here. Wheelchair users are able to use the main marquee; however, the wheelchair may not block any aisles or exits. Please ask a steward for assistance when you enter the venue.
Dogs: Well controlled dogs are allowed on the Festival field and the main marquee for afternoon concerts. If you have a dog you are asked to sit at the end of an aisle and near an exit. If your dog is deemed to be a nuisance you’ll be asked to leave. Dogs are not permitted in any of our other venues, or evening concerts in the main marquee.
Fringe events: Fringe events advertised in our programme are managed by the venue concerned, not us, and subject to their terms and conditions.

Photographic, video or audio recordings.

Your recordings: You may take photos or short video clips for personal use, and we’d love you to share them on social media. Please follow these guidelines:
- Flash – Flash photography or video shot with video lights are not permitted as they can distract performers and other audience members.
- Privacy – Please respect the wishes of performers who may request no photography or recording during their performances. This will be communicated by Festival staff when necessary.
- Photography of Minors: Attendees are advised not to take photographs or videos of minors (children under 18 years old) without obtaining explicit consent from the child’s parent or guardian. This is to ensure the privacy and safety of all festival-goers and to align with safeguarding practices.
Our recordings: Please be aware that we may photograph or film parts of the event, including audience shots, for promotional purposes. Don’t worry — there’s no Coldplay-style kiss cam.
Commercial use: Images, video or sound recordings may not be captured for commercial use without advance written permission from the Swanage Folk Festival.

General

Any person who fails to comply with instructions from a steward or other person acting for the Festival organisers may be asked to leave and will not receive a refund.
Swanage Folk Festival reserves the right to alter or change the programme, without prior notification. Artists are human beings and occasionally encounter trains, traffic, illness or banjo-related complications.
Swanage Folk Festival cannot accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal belongings, except where such loss or damage results from our negligence.
Festival tickets may not be used for competitions, promotions or hospitality packages without the written consent of Swanage Folk Festival.

These Terms and Conditions are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Any such change shall not affect any contract between us at the time of such change.
