Magpie Lane

Magpie Lane is a five-piece folk band from Oxford, who specialise in traditional English songs and dance tunes.

They have been delighting audiences for over 25 years and released ten critically-acclaimed albums; each combining powerful vocals and vigorous dance tunes with performing inventive arrangements on acoustic instruments.

Unusually every band member is a fine singer but also an instrumentalist, which make them  unique. The band comprises

  • Andy Turner – vocals, anglo-concertina, one-row melodeon
  • Mat Green – fiddle, vocals
  • Sophie Thurman – vocals, cello
  • Jon Fletcher – vocals, bouzouki, guitar
