Cogs and Wheels Ladies Morris

Cogs and Wheels are a ladies side who perform in a Cotswold style. They’ll be at the Swanage Folk Festival in their Dartmoor inspired colours – brown skirts and different coloured blouses in moorland hues.

They formed in 1995 and take their inspiration from Finch Foundry in Sticklepath and the surrounding Dartmoor landscape. Their costumes reflect the hues of the moor and their Beldames style of dancing is quite distinctive.

The original team of ten has grown each year and although some are relatively new to Morris dancing their enthusiasm and joy for the dance overcomes all obstacles!

They perform a wide variety of dances from several traditions— mostly Cotswold, with some Border and some their own.

Each year Swanage is filled with a music and dance spectacle,
including FREE and ticketed events across the weekend.
