Road Closures

As usual, we will be applying to Dorset County Council for Road Closures to enable
dance sides to process through the town centre on the afternoon of  Saturday 10th September 2016, 3.15 to 4.30 pm approximately. It is necessary for health and safety reasons to close some roads totally to traffic, or alter the flow direction of one way roads.

This disruption to traffic will be kept as short as possible and Swanage Folk Festival apologize for any inconvenience this causes.

Please follow the directions of our traffic marshalls when requested. The amended traffic flow is designed to keep traffic flowing as much as possible for the brief duration of the parade and we appreciate your co-operation.

A map of road closures will appear here nearer the time.

Travelling to Swanage

This Year we have teamed up with the UK's largest car sharing community, to promote sharing lifts to the festival. It is free to join, easy to use and packed full of sensible 'keeping safe' information.
why not try it, not just for getting to and from the festival but for other journeys including daily commutes.

T
he nearest Brtish Rail station is Wareham which is 10 miles from Swanage. The regular bus service 40 travels from Wareham station to the centre of Swanage.
Alternatively, you can catch the same bus from Poole railway station.
From Bournemouth there is also a regular bus service, the 50 which travels from Bournemouth Railway station to the centre of Swanage.

If you are travelling by car to Swanage, then you may like to take advantage of the park and ride at Norden (just outside Corfe Castle) and travel into Swanage by steam train. Please check their website though for times etc.

Swanage is also served by National Express from Victoria Coach Station in London.
Please note that only one coach comes each day arriving in the evening and leaving in the morning. Check the National Express website for more informatio
